The Sea Turtle

Note from Sundara... We recently had a family get-together where someone was wearing a striped top out of these colors and there was lots of exclamations about how amazing it was and how great it looked and how they wanted one for themselves. It immediately made me think that something knit up in those two colors would look smashing and probably elicit the same reaction when worn. And isn't that what we all want? For our projects to be noticed and admired? We put a lot of time and effort into them and they deserve love. If the color of the yarn is what initially attracts people, that's a good start. Your knitting skills will be the real star of the show because, after all, you did the work. You knit all those stitches.

This photo of this adorable sea turtle was the closest I could find to the colors I was wanting to dye and who doesn't love an adorable sea turtle. I used fingering silk because the original was in a slinky, shiny sort of fabric, which obviously meant silk was the best option. The "Friday Tee" by Petite Knit is the obvious choice if you want to go ahead and knit a top, but I'm pretty sure you'll still get lots of love for your project if you knit something smaller like a shawl or a hat or a cowl.
