Note from Sundara... I got a few new dyes that I'd never used before and I always like to test them out to see what they look like, which means no inspiration photos. BUT! It does mean maybe something different. Although, honestly, I'm not sure if these two are all that different from other dyes I have. But they are still great colors. I was reminded of cranberries, which made me think of that band from the 90s and so I named one after the band and another after one of their songs. If you remember them, you can get all nostalgic. If not, just enjoy the names.
But let's talk about the yarn, because as these are more somewhat-solid colors, you can do a lot and fingering silky alpaca is simply lovely. It's smooth, soft, and has just enough shine to make it special. So what to knit? If you are up for something uniquely different yet super cool and interesting, a new pattern is out called "Ups and Downs" by Vicky Streater. It's a scarf that uses two colors, which is great because these two colors look amazing together. It's mainly garter stitch, which is lovely and mindless, but has some slipped and twisted stitches and blocks of color that make it something rather special. It's already on my To Be Knit list. (1 skein each color)
Next up is "Mamie" by Deborah Dar Woon. It's a simply GORGEOUS shawl that has just enough going on in the main section to keep it from being mind numbing, and the lace edge is stunning. The silky alpaca would be divine in this. (1 skein)
Finally, I looked at One Skein Wonders, and I just adore Joji's "One Love Shawl. It is obvious just one skein, which she describes as an alternating combination of squishy garter and feather and fan sections. It's fabulous.
"The Cranberries & Sunday" will not be dyed again. 1/2 a batch of each color available
