The Black Wolf

Note from Sundara... It feels a tad disingenuous to name a yarn "The Black Wolf" when there is no actual black in the color of the yarn. But, this has linen in it, and as I've talked about before, the point of this yarn is that the linen doesn't take the dye, giving the yarn a tweedy effect, since the silk and alpaca do take the dye. The result is it is pretty much impossible to get this yarn black. Which is absolutely fine because I didn't want to dye the yarn with black in it, I just liked the photo. The draw was those background colors.

Although, I admit I had to google if black wolves were a real thing because maybe this was a faked photo, but it turns out they are and about half the population of wolves in Yellowstone have black coats. Fun fact for the day.

But the color! This would be great for anyone wanting something in these colors and not all the pinks and greens I've been dyeing lately. It would also work great if you have a guy in your life you want to knit something for. I also thought (because I had dogs on the brain) that it would be a cute color to knit up a dog sweater if you have a dog who wears sweaters and needs a sweater that isn't overly warm for when the weather turns. If you know, you also want to put your dog in a yarn that has silk in it. Your choice. Based on what I let my dogs get away with, I would think that was entirely reasonable.
