Taking Flight

Note from Sundara... I was actually looking for photos that would let me dye yarn that would bring out all the lovely bits of brown-caramel, mocha, chocolate, pecan, walnut, etc-for people with brown eyes. But I saw this and got a little obsessed because I took several photography classes back in college and do you know how hard it is to take a photo like this? If you've never dabbled in photography, let me tell you: SUPER HARD. All caps warranted. This photo is amazing.

The yarn color is maybe not as amazing, which I probably shouldn't admit BUT if you have brown eyes (like my daughter, which was the inspiration for all this brown-eyed thoughtfulness) this color should actually bring out the best of your eyes. Because brown is actually yellow or some sort of yellow-orange (red). It's just got a lot of blue added into it, and that is what turns that yellow or combination of yellow & red (orange) into brown. Which is why blue actually brings out the best in brown. It's color theory. Blue and orange are compliments and compliments always bring out the best in each other. And anyone who has ever seen how great yellow and blue look together would understand why blue and a yellow-based brown would look good together. And this just got way too technical and wordy and I expected. So to sum it up: This color will look great with brown eyes.
