Halloween, Deconstructed

Note from Sundara... Every year around this time, I get a few requests for Halloween inspired yarn. Which means orange and black. Now, I can appreciate orange and black as a holiday color combo, but they can be hard to dye using my methods. Black and orange make brown, so making orange and black look Halloween doesn't really work. Also, orange and black have a very limited range of usage. You use those colors any other time of year and they look kind of dated, right? Like it just screams Halloween, which is kind of weird in maybe March. BUT, I appreciate the desire to feel festive.

It occurred to me that maybe I could deconstruct the orange and add a black-ish tone and make it feel Halloween-y yet still make it a color you could wear year round. Or at least make it something that if you saw it in say, March, you didn't think it screamed Halloween. And you know what? I kind of love it. I'd wear this in March. I'd probably wear in June, July, and August, too. And I'd wear it now. So if you want to feel Halloween-festive but not put all that time and effort into making something that can only be used maybe 3 weeks out of the year, this is the yarn for you.
