Racket Tailed Roller

Note from Sundara... I told my mother the other day that two things happen when you hit middle age (physiological middle age, not age-middle age). First, you get obsessed with rose gardening, then you all of a sudden think taking up birding might be a great idea. I keep running into random friends my age and we've all gotten obsessed with David Austen roses and cute little birds. Did this happen to you? And are you asking yourself what does this have to do with yarn? I would assume, that the third thing that happens when you hit middle age is that if you aren't already obsessed with yarn, it definitely becomes an option. But let's talk about this color and this cute little bird.

I thought it was hysterical that this tiny little thing has a name that sounds like it could be a ruthless Roller Derby team. They'd obviously wear brown and blue and afterward, they'd throw on cute little sweaters knit out of this yarn. Or something like that. The yarn is amazing because it is fingering silky merino cashmere, which as I like to tell everyone, my sister wears year round. So if it is worth wearing in 80 degree weather, it is definitely something you want for colder weather. And I also am coming to think that brown may be the new black. It's more versatile without always washing you out or making you feel like you are going to a funeral. And if you need to have the moxie of a Roller Derby girl, maybe wear something out of this color.
