Note from Sundara...Today is silk day here at Sundara Yarn; I thought I'd try dying two different yarn bases inspired by the same photo, with some slight variation between the two.
The silk lace is a darkly saturated black with lots of purple and violet highlights throughout each skein. It reminds me a bit of an older Sundara Yarn color, Black over Violet. Although for longtime customers who remember the color, this color is more fully saturated and has more variation through the purple spectrum.
The sport silk includes more charcoals and indigo-treys along with steel-purples. Both are very stunning and I only was able to dye a batch of each yarn, so when they sell out, they will be gone.
SPORT SILK is 225 yards and 100 grams of 100% silk.
It knits up delightfully at 5-6 stitches per inch on US 3-5/3.25-3.75mm needles.
Gently hand was in tepid water for project longevity.
